
This introduction to screenwriting class is perfect for those wanting to begin to bring to life their stories. You will be introduced to the basics of story format, character development, 3 act plot structure and the importance of identifying your audience and distribution before you begin to write. This class will also explore concepts for new content, writing development exercises and an introduction to different writing formats including feature length, original TV content, spec scripts, and web series. The goal of the course is to give new writers a foundation in writing and understanding the basic structure of writing for TV, film or web in order to prepare to write their own scripts. Log lines will also be covered which are your tool to getting accepted into your next screenwriting class. Screenwriting 101 meets weekly for one hour and approximately 10 sessions. Weeknight or Saturday morning options are available.

At the end of this class you will have worked on your log line and prepped it for Screenwriting 201, Animation Writing 201 or Parable Writing.

This is not the cost of the class, but a fee to review your writing and get you set up in the program and placed. *Screenwriting 101 is the only class that does not require a writing sample.
