Screenwriting 201 is the first in a three-part sequence of a professional writing series created to take you through the process of writing a feature length screenplay. In this course you will learn about the foundations of a great story as you construct your own with the support of a CEG vetted professional writer, your instructor. Screenwriting 201 includes strengthening and developing a solid concept, elements of compelling story structure, creating characters that appeal to top actors, charting a complex plot, and a well built story outline as well as how character needs, desires, goals and obstacles drive a compelling screenplay. Your Screenwriting 201 goal is to create an outline or treatment that sets forth the structure for writing your screenplay. Creating an amazing outline is an important tool for professional screenwriters that is an important part of powerful script development as well as pitching. It is also required for getting into Screenwriting 202.
An approved screenplay outline is required for admission into Screenwriting 202.
