CEG Safety Guidelines Please complete the following volunteer agreement to follow the CEG Safety Guidelines for the protection of our great big faith family community. CEG Safety Guidelines CHRISTIAN ENTERTAINMENT GUILD BASIC SAFETY GUIDELINES: 1. When involved in CEG events as a volunteer or otherwise acting as a CEG representative never be alone with someone of the opposite sex with whom you are not related. Date or court on your own time, not during events. * 2. When volunteering for CEG, never be alone with a minor, with whom you are not related. If you take a child to the restroom, it can never be alone. Never enter a bathroom stall with another person with whom you are not related. * 3.Couples volunteering for CEG in a child ministry must serve with another adult leader in the room at all times. * APPROPRIATE TOUCH: It is our hope that CEG is a warm, welcoming and friendly place. We greatly value the safety of our CEG family and are counting on you to help keep it safe. Failure to comply with these guidelines are grounds for immediate dismissal. 4. Physical contact should be age and developmentally appropriate and is only appropriate when done publicly. Hugging children can only be done if the child or minor initiates the contact. Be sensitive, and desist from any hugging attempts when ever the other person shows any reluctance. Whether child or adult, never allow full contact (body to body) hugs. Rather distance your body from the hug or give the person a side-to side hug. Sometimes it may be best for you to initiate a high-five rather than invite a hug. * 5• Extended hugging; tickling or prolonged physical contact of any kind is not appropriate. • A light touch to a hand, shoulder or back when encouraging is acceptable. Never touch a child, minor or adult in any area that would be covered by a bathing suit. * 6. Never kiss or coax a child, minor or adult to kiss you while participating in a CEG event or program unless you are married to that person. * 7. When serving, be sure to set an example by following the safety standards even with your own family or friends so as to encourage appropriate safe practice behaviors. * ACCIDENTS AND INJURIES: 8. In the case of an accident, regardless of child or adult, inform your team leader. If not available, inform the project coordinator or producer right away. Along with care, an Incident Form will need to be filled out and signed by the volunteer that witnessed the event. The Incident Report also requires a staff signature as well as adult injured signature or parent signature. * 9. If there is a spill of body fluid (due to cuts, nosebleeds, vomit, etc.), latex gloves must be worn. In case of a serious emergency, please call 911 and also please call CEG leadership immediately at 818-697-0222. * 10. Serious injuries involving broken bones, convulsions, fainting, unconsciousness or other serious bodily injury should be treated as follows: • Remain calm and keep the injured person as calm as possible. Speak calmly. • Do not move or leave the injured person alone. • Send a fellow volunteer to find a coordinator or leadership member or producer for assistance. • The coordinator or CEG Leadership member will call 911 if necessary. • The coordinator or CEG Leadership member will contact the parents if applicable. • If the injured is to be transported to a hospital and a family member of the injured cannot be located in time, the CEG leader will accompany the injured to the hospital. • The CEG leader will follow up with the family or parent as needed. All volunteers and CEG leaders involved in the emergency will write out a report of what happened immediately following the emergency. * 11.
