Being a top actor with big credits and fame, a producer amassing a fortune or a sound person working many days on a major motion picture… or even reaching a goal of making rent doing what we love to do as a storyteller… all of these things and more bring us a feeling of temporary satisfaction and bliss. No matter what milestone we have met, we know that the euphoria of success may be short lived. The film, story or project may even be a flop or rotten tomato to some. This world and things within it can be temporary but when our joy and motivation comes from a desire to please God it is not temporary. You see, true greatness in the eyes of God is not a matter of fame and fortune. True greatness in the eyes of God is having a servant heart, and being a servant to others. God wants us to serve one another in love and humility. When God does something great within us, through us and the world it is because of who He is and how He is working through us. To God be the glory! John 13:12-14 When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. If Christ can wash the feet of his disciples then how should we serve one another as Christians through the ministry of entertainment?
