Hello CEG Family,What a season this has been and still is. Something I thought would only last a month or two leaves us all wondering many months later, when will we have the opportunity to meet together again in person.
My prayer for you is that you have found peace and comfort during these times and know that God is with you. He loves you. He goes before you. He meets you right where you are. He is with you and we do not have to fear these times. “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.[a] 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Psalm 91:1-2.
At CEG the month of July and August are quieter times for us. We plan and prepare for the new season starting up again in September. Our leadership teams have been working on some exciting new things for our CEG Outreach Team where we have developed a puppet show monster series called the Oogalie Moogalies. We perform highly interactive shows with differently abled, cancer/sick kids and share the hope and joy we have through Jesus in our creative story telling. In addition, we have developed a music program where we will be teaching music, drumming, percussion this year through our outreach program We hope that you will consider sponsoring the purchase of an instrument to support this music and arts ministry.
We are also excited to announce that we have launched a new animation program with CEG family member, Butch Hartman. The program starts in September! Together we will learn to write our own animation projects, storyboard them, build show bibles, pitch and get feedback from Butch who created The Fairly Odd Parents, Bunsen Is A Beast, Doogal and more. CEG Community Groups are registering now! CEG Community Groups are the heartbeat of our ministry providing an opportunity for fellowship, worshiping together, growing in our personal relationship with Jesus, coming together to support each other and sharing our talents in peer-to-peer mentorships with like minded Christians in entertainment. CEG groups are meeting in various locations across Los Angeles. We would love to come alongside you in your faith journey within the entertainment industry and also make sure you are plugged into a church near you. CEG kicks off its community groups the week of September 14th. Ther are now opportunities to be a part of a community group either virtually through Zoom or in person in both Westlake Village, CA or North Hollywood. CEG LAUNCHES ANIMATION PROGRAM WITH BUTCH HARTMAN, Creator Of Fairly Odd Parents and other special guests
The Christian Entertainment Guild’s new animation program kicks off this September. Join us as we work to develop the stories God has placed on your heart. This season you can bring your project to life by sharing your concept with Butch Hartman, getting feedback then support to write your your script with the help of a mentor, learn storyboarding from Butch Hartman and a mentor will help you bring it to life on the pages of your own storyboards. Then create your show bible with the support of a professional in animation project development. Once you are ready to pitch the CEG Team and Butch Hartman will mentor you in pitching your own project to Butch in a two day full weekend workshop with Butch. The goal: Learn how to develop your project at the highest level possible and have some fun while creating projects that bring to light who Christ is in a way that is relevant within pop culture.

The Christian Entertainment Guild’s Outreach Team has been serving through the arts and working with differently-abled, sick/cancer kids and foster kids and teens for several years. Together we share who Jesus is through music, song, visual arts, puppet shows, dance and more. This season, starting September 2020 we are pleased to kick off our CEG Outreach – Music Program with a plan to share the joy we have in our relationship with Christ through music. Our faith family team including professional musicians within our community volunteer their time to teach music. Together we bring music to the youth through drumming on rain barrels, bongos, shakers, singing and more. We need your help in providing percussion instruments to be used in creating and teaching music through our outreach program. One of the best ways to get connected within CEG is through serving. Many people say serving is where relationships are built and where we see the Holy Spirit at work in and among us. If you have a servant heart and are interested in possibly co-leading a CEG community group with other Christians in entertainment we would love to hear from you. Helpers are also an important part of bringing our community groups to life. If you want to serve, help or supprort our community groups or learn more about how it might work, join us. As community group leaders we meet together to talk through leading, preparing and what makes a great leader. When you lead, it is really about serving… having a servant heart. Banding together, keeping our eyes on God and sharing the gifts and talents God has given us allows God to work supernaturally through us to do things we could never do on our own. Together, we are supporting the development of projects that portray the true nature of who Christ is.Together we are serving through the arts with special needs, foster and sick (cancer) kids as well as mentoring older foster teenagers and young adults interested in the arts. In addition we have ongoing ministry projects including a docu-feature in post production that is on the life and ministry of Henrietta Mears where you can help to support its completion. You can also serve on different teams including Development (new projects), Praise (worship through music), Hospitality (welcoming all, creating fun ways to connect), Production (supporting CEG vetted projects) and serving as needed (a little bit of time or a lot). There are many opportunities to get involved in a way that is unique to your strengths. If you are veteran who can mentor, awesome, we have a place for you. If you are recent film school grad, great!
